US weighs aid and swap line for UAE

US considers financial assistance and currency swap with UAE amid rising regional tensions, President Trump said Tuesday interview CNBC.

“It is,” Trump told CNBC, confirming consideration of currency swap with UAE, describing the nation as a good ally.

“They’re really led by incredible people I mean I’m surprised because they are really rich Trump said further.

“If I could help them I would I mean we’re helping them much more with what we’re doing with the war.

The Wall Street Journal reported UAE central bank governor raised idea of currency swap line with US officials in Washington last week.

“If the UAE had a problem but if they had a problem we would be there for them said Trump.

The move underscores deepening US-Gulf financial coordination as war-driven uncertainty weighs on energy markets and global diplomatic stability increasing.
