Tyson Fury, the boxing heavyweight champion, is set to face Francis Ngannou, a prominent heavyweight fighter in mixed martial arts (MMA).
The highly anticipated bout, scheduled for October 28, will be held in Saudi Arabia under professional boxing rules.
The fight will reportedly take place in a regulation boxing ring in Riyadh, under boxing rules, including three ringside judges using the ’10 point must system’.
Details such as the number of rounds, the potential involvement of Fury’s WBC heavyweight title, and the impact on their professional boxing records remain unclear.
Fury, known as the Gypsy King, hails from Britain with an Irish Traveller background.
Ngannou, who is a Cameroonian-French former UFC heavyweight champion, left the organization earlier this year.
While several MMA stars have encountered challenges transitioning to the boxing ring, Ngannou expressed his interest in a crossover fight with Fury after Fury’s victory over Dillian Whyte in April 2022.
