Nigerian chef Hilda Baci loses Guinness world record title

Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, known as Hilda Baci, has lost her Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon to Alan Fisher.

Fisher, an Irish chef in Japan, broke the record with an astonishing 119 hours 57 minutes, surpassing Baci’s record by over 24 hours.

Additionally, Fisher claimed the longest baking marathon title with 47 hours 21 minutes, exceeding the previous record of 31 hours 16 minutes held by Wendy Sandner.

Notably, Fisher undertook both challenges consecutively, spending over 160 hours in the kitchen with just over a day’s rest in between.

In contrast, Hilda Baci, who had set the record in June, cooked for 100 hours but had nearly seven hours deducted due to a mistaken rest break.

Her initial record of 87 hours 45 minutes, set in 2019, was surpassed by Tondon.
