Egypt reaffirmed Sunday its commitment to rebuilding Gaza without forcing Palestinians from their land.
“Our efforts will not stop in implementing the ceasefire agreement,” Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said alongside his Djiboutian counterpart.
His remarks followed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s suggestion to relocate Gazans to Egypt and Jordan, a proposal swiftly rejected by Cairo and Amman.
A six-nation Arab meeting in Cairo also denounced Palestinian displacement and called for a two-state solution.
The ceasefire, in effect since Jan. 19, halted Israel’s war, which has killed nearly 47,500 people and injured over 111,000 since Oct. 7, 2023.

Tensions had risen as Yemen’s Houthis attacked Israeli-linked ships during the Gaza war, but the situation is easing.
