The African Union (AU) has commended Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his crucial role in brokering a peace deal between Somalia and Ethiopia.
The agreement, signed by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Ankara, aims to end a period of tension between the two neighboring countries.
AU Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat expressed his appreciation for the leadership of both Somali and Ethiopian leaders in prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy.
He urged both parties to swiftly implement the agreed-upon measures to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
