Turkey emphasizes constructive role in Sudan crisis

Turkey is prepared to play a pivotal role in resolving the ongoing conflict in Sudan, according to the Turkish ambassador to the country.

Ambassador Fatih Yildiz emphasized Turkey’s commitment to peace and its ability to bridge the gap between the warring parties.

Yildiz highlighted Turkey’s trusted position among Sudanese key actors and its readiness to play a constructive role in the peace process.

He noted that Turkey’s approach is based on consensus and cooperation, rather than imposition or coercion.

In addition to its diplomatic efforts, Turkey has also been providing humanitarian aid to Sudan, particularly after the recent dam collapse in eastern Sudan.

The ambassador emphasized Turkey’s continued support for the Sudanese people and its commitment to helping them overcome the challenges posed by the conflict.

The 2023 Jeddah Declaration, a peace treaty aimed at ending the war in Sudan, is seen as a crucial step towards resolving the conflict.

Turkey has expressed its support for the Sudanese government’s efforts to implement this agreement.

As the humanitarian crisis in Sudan continues to worsen, Yildiz called for increased international attention to the situation.

He stressed that the conflict is not receiving the global focus it deserves, overshadowed by other crises.

Turkey’s willingness to play a more active role in the conflict is seen as a positive development by many.

The country’s diplomatic experience and its strong relationships with both the Sudanese government and the Sudanese people make it well-positioned to facilitate a peaceful resolution.
