Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit Algeria on April 20-21 for high-level strategic discussions.
Fidan will co-chair the third meeting of the Turkey-Algeria Joint Planning Group with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf.
The talks aim to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation.
During the visit, Fidan will meet with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and inaugurate the Turkish Consulate General in Oran.
The discussions will focus on preparations for the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, set for Tebboune’s upcoming visit to Turkey.
Economic collaboration and reaching a $10 billion trade target will be key topics.
Fidan will also discuss expanding energy cooperation and explore defense industry projects. Regional issues like the Sahel, Libya, Syria, and Gaza will also be addressed.
Turkey and Algeria have strengthened ties, notably through the 2020 establishment of the High-Level Cooperation Council.
Trade between the countries reached $6.42 billion in 2024, with Turkish investments in Algeria exceeding $6 billion.
