Xi Visits Egypt as Middle East Reassesses Ties Amid Iran War Fallout
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Egypt on Tuesday, his first visit in a decade.

State media has spotlighted deepening economic and military bonds, marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Sisi wrote that Egypt and China had become partners strengthening the Global South’s role in world affairs.
Xi called the countries close brothers standing together against imperialism, voicing hope for a deeper partnership ahead.
Last month, Egypt hosted joint military drills with China, deploying Chinese J-16 jets to Africa for the first time.
Analysts say Cairo is diversifying alliances, wary of Washington’s reliability following the wars in Gaza and Iran.
Chinese investment has surged into Egyptian manufacturing, ports, solar energy and satellite technology in recent years.
