Death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Gaza rises to 704

Israel had intensified its raids on the Gaza Strip for the third day, killing hundreds of people in retaliation for attacks carried out by the militant group Hamas.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Monday an updated statistic of the casualties of the Israeli aggression on the third day in the Gaza Strip, stating that 704 citizens have been killed, and 2,900 other citizens have been injured.”

A source from the Palestinian Red Crescent emphasized the urgent need to establish a humanitarian corridor for delivering aid to the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of Israeli strikes.

According to a statement from the Israeli military, their overnight air strikes and artillery shelling targeted over 500 locations affiliated with the Hamas and Islamic Jihad militant group in the Gaza Strip.

At least 18 people have died in an Israeli bombing of homes in the Gazan city of Rafah, Palestinian media stated on Monday.

Israeli forces also continued to storm several neighbourhoods in the West Bank.

The United Nations said the number of displaced Gazans has risen to more than 123,000 as a result of the fighting between the Israeli military and Hamas since the attack on Saturday.

According to rescue service officials cited by various Israeli news outlets, at least 800 people, including 73 soldiers, have been reported killed in Israel.

Hamas fighters conducted attacks against Israeli forces across southern Israel on Saturday, marking one of the deadliest incursions against the Israeli occupation.
