Death toll from Israeli attacks in Gaza nears 37,200

Since October 7, the death toll from Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip has surged to 37,164, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The ministry reported that 84,832 people have also been injured.

In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli attacks have killed at least 40 people and injured 120 others. Rescue efforts are hampered, leaving many trapped under rubble and on the roads.

Israel has faced widespread international condemnation for its ongoing offensive, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire following the October 7 attack by Hamas.

Eight months into the conflict, large parts of Gaza are in ruins, suffering from a severe blockade on food, clean water, and medicine. The International Court of Justice has accused Israel of genocide, with its latest ruling ordering Tel Aviv to halt operations in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge before it was invaded on May 6.
