Egypt has urged the United States to accelerate the deployment of an international stabilization force within the battered Gaza Strip.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty pressed U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a diplomatic summit held in Manila.
Abdel-Aty pleaded for swift humanitarian aid delivery and the completion of the first phase of the American peace plan.
The appeal comes amid a fragile ceasefire heavily tested by continuous, deadly Israeli military incursions inside the enclave.
Meanwhile, Moroccan military officers recently surveyed Gaza to prepare for their nation’s participation in the requested stabilization force.
The United Nations Security Council previously authorized this temporary international force under Resolution 2803 in late 2025.
However, the Israeli government has not yet granted final approval for the deployment of these foreign peacekeepers.
Unresolved arrangements also stall a designated Palestinian committee from assuming the administrative responsibilities of governing Gaza.
The ongoing conflict has already damaged or destroyed an estimated ninety percent of civilian infrastructure across the territory.
Palestinian officials report that Israel’s military campaign has left over 73,000 dead and 173,000 wounded so far.
