The Israeli army has committed 497 violations of the Gaza ceasefire since its implementation, Gaza authorities reported Saturday. The Gaza Government Media Office accused Israel of systematically undermining the agreement through lethal attacks and repeated ground and air incursions.
Saturday alone saw 27 violations, killing 24 Palestinians and injuring 87, the office said, calling the actions a flagrant breach of international law. Since October 10, Israeli forces carried out 142 shootings targeting civilians, 228 air and artillery strikes, 21 ground incursions, and 100 demolitions of homes.
The office said these attacks amount to collective punishment, creating widespread destruction and threatening security and stability across the Gaza Strip. It added that 35 Palestinians were detained in raids, reflecting an ongoing effort to impose a violent new reality in the enclave.
Gaza Civil Defense reported at least 22 killed Saturday in airstrikes on homes and vehicles, marking another clear ceasefire violation. Under the ceasefire, Israel occupies more than half of Gaza, separated by a “yellow line” intended to protect Palestinian residential areas.
Recent Israeli attacks east of the yellow line have destroyed large areas, leaving zones highly hazardous for civilians, authorities warned. Since October 2023, the Israeli army has killed nearly 70,000 people, mostly women and children, injured over 170,800, and reduced Gaza to rubble.
