The Israeli army has killed 18,592 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, according to official data from Gaza’s Health Ministry on Thursday.
The ministry’s records tragically showed that many of these innocent victims were killed in their earliest days of life, some just hours after birth. Figures released by the ministry shockingly revealed the victims included nine babies killed on their birth day, five on their first day, and eight on their third day.
The ministry further explained that the heartbreaking list of dead children also included 88 infants aged one month, 90 aged two months, and 78 aged three months.
The Israeli army has relentlessly pursued a brutal offensive on Gaza since October 7, 2023, killing over 60,200 Palestinians and devastating the enclave. This relentless bombardment has led to widespread food shortages, creating a catastrophic humanitarian crisis throughout the entire region.
On Monday, Israeli rights groups B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, citing the systematic destruction of Palestinian society. They specifically cited the deliberate dismantling of the territory’s crucial healthcare system as a key component of their legal accusations.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued significant arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
The charges against them include grave war crimes and numerous crimes against humanity committed during the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Israel currently also faces a serious genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its brutal war on the Palestinian enclave.
