India strikes Pakistan, igniting war

Pakistan’s military reported that India attacked five different locations, resulting in three deaths and twelve injuries.

The alleged attacks targeted a mosque in Bahawalpur’s Ahmed East area, as well as Kotli and Muzaffarabad.

Pakistan’s army spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, denounced the strikes as “cowardly and shameful,” stating that Pakistani air force jets are airborne and a response will occur at a time and place of Pakistan’s choosing.

India claimed responsibility for “Operation Sindoor,” asserting that nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir were hit, but no Pakistani military facilities were targeted.

Multiple explosions were reported in the vicinity of Muzaffarabad after midnight, followed by a power blackout in the city.

Prior to these events, the United States had urged both India and Pakistan to maintain calm.

This followed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s warning regarding the flow of water across borders.

State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce reiterated the call for a responsible resolution to ensure long-term peace and regional stability in South Asia.
