Iran rules out US talks as death toll from strikes hits 555

Iran has ruled out negotiations with the United States amid the ongoing conflict triggered by US and Israeli military strikes on Iranian territory, Iranian officials and state media reported.

A senior Iranian official reiterated Tehran’s refusal to enter talks with Washington while the joint operation continues, framing the US-Israeli campaign as hostile and asserting Iran’s right to self-defence. The stance was made as the conflict intensified across multiple fronts.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society said the death toll inside Iran has reached at least 555 people since the strikes began, with more than 130 cities reportedly hit in the campaign. The figure, which includes both military personnel and civilians, reflects the sharp escalation of violence after the operation was launched.

The strikes, coordinated between US and Israeli forces, have targeted Iranian military and strategic sites, prompting Tehran to respond with rockets and drones against Israeli targets and US bases in the region. The broader conflict has reportedly spread beyond Iran’s borders, drawing in allied militias and affecting security in neighbouring countries.

Iranian authorities have condemned the attacks at international forums, calling them violations of international law and asserting that defensive measures will continue. There was no immediate public comment from the US or Israeli governments on Tehran’s latest rejection of negotiations or on the reported casualty figures.
