
Elon Musk reaffirmed his commitment to remaining Tesla’s CEO for the next five years, stating at an economic forum in Qatar on Tuesday, “unless I die.” Musk emphasized that maintaining reasonable control over Tesla was key to his decision to stay at the helm of the company.
He also discussed Tesla’s global performance, noting that while the company had “turned around,” the European market remained its weakest, with strong demand in other regions.
Musk hinted at the potential for Starlink to go public in the future but clarified that there was no immediate plan to do so. Starlink, which now operates in over 70 countries, is focusing on expanding in emerging markets, particularly India.
On artificial intelligence, Musk expressed support for some regulation in the U.S. but cautioned against overregulation. His AI company, xAI, is ramping up efforts to build a supercomputer cluster in Memphis, Tennessee, known as “Colossus,” which is touted as the largest in the world.
