Qatari, Algerian leaders hold talks to boost bilateral ties

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held talks in Doha on Sunday with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Talks between the two leaders dwelt on bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, especially in economy, trade, industry, energy, and technology, the state news agency QNA reported.

The discussions also covered a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern, the broadcaster said.

Tebboune arrived in the Gulf country on Saturday for a two-day visit.

In November, the Algerian president joined other world leaders in attending the opening ceremony of the 2022 FFIA World Cup in Qatar, the first ever to have taken place in the Arab and Muslim world.

Just weeks earlier, Sheikh Tamim visited Algeria early November to attend the annual Arab summit.
