South Africa calls solutions for Africa and Gaza conflicts

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for the peaceful resolution of global disputes.

Speaking at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, he emphasized the need for negotiation and dialogue.

Ramaphosa highlighted ongoing conflicts, especially in Africa, where Sudan remains mired in a devastating war.

He noted that the conflict in Sudan, now in its second year, has been largely forgotten by the world.

He also pointed to other persistent conflicts in Africa, including in the Sahel and Great Lakes regions.

These areas continue to struggle with instability and violence.

Addressing the situation in Gaza, Ramaphosa expressed concern over Israel’s military aggression.

He described the attacks as genocide, citing South Africa’s efforts to bring the case to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

South Africa, along with several other countries, has urged the ICJ to stop the violence against Palestinians.

In May, the court ordered Israel to halt its offensive in southern Gaza, where the death toll has exceeded 42,800.
