Trump signals Iran will strike a nuclear deal after G7 summit

President Donald Trump expressed confidence on Monday that Iran would eventually agree to a nuclear deal, while vaguely warning that the United States would take action after he leaves the G7 summit.

Speaking at the summit in Canada, Trump told reporters he believes “a deal will be signed, or something will happen.”

He also suggested Iran was “foolish not to sign one” during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Trump indicated that “as soon as I leave here, we’re going to be doing something,” but provided no further specifics.

He is scheduled to depart the summit in the Canadian Rockies on Tuesday.

Trump has consistently declined to comment on potential US military support for Israel to destroy Iran’s nuclear program.

He previously denied direct US involvement in Israel’s offensive but has praised the strikes and noted Israel’s use of US weaponry.
