U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Saudi Arabia from March 10-12 for talks with Ukrainian officials, the U.S. State Department announced on Sunday.
During the visit, Rubio will also meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Following the Saudi trip, Rubio will head to Canada for the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting from March 12-14.
Rubio recently spoke with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, emphasizing President Donald Trump’s desire to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict quickly. Tensions have risen after Trump paused military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine following a disagreement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on February 28.
Zelenskiy is also set to visit Saudi Arabia for talks with Prince Mohammed, and Ukrainian diplomats and military officials will meet the U.S. delegation on Tuesday.
