Roadside explosions in Mogadishu, Somalia, killed five people and wounded eight others on Saturday, a city official reported.
The first explosion occurred where many young people had gathered to take photos, said Abdullahi Sheikh Abdirahman, district commissioner of Mogadishu’s Kahda district.
A second blast happened when rescuers arrived, causing most of the casualties, witness Abdisamad Osman told The Associated Press.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but al-Shabab, a terror group, frequently carries out such assaults.
This attack follows a similar explosion at a beach weeks ago, which killed over 30 people and wounded more than 60.
The increasing frequency of violent attacks in Mogadishu has raised significant concern among residents and officials.
