UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Cairo Saturday for a visit focused on bolstering relations with Egypt.
He was greeted by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at Cairo International Airport, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The two leaders exchanged Ramadan greetings, reflecting the deep bond between their nations.
Egyptian presidential spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated the visit occurred within a “brotherly framework,” highlighting the strong personal connection between the presidents.
El-Sisi hosted an iftar banquet for bin Zayed, where they reaffirmed the “strong and distinguished ties” between their countries.
Discussions centered on enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
Bin Zayed expressed gratitude for the warm reception, emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to strengthening historical relations.
The visit follows el-Sisi’s January trip to the UAE, where regional issues, including the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Sudan, were discussed.
