At least 21 people have died in a major road crash in South Africa.
The crash happened on the N1 highway in Western Cape early on Monday.
Three vehicles were involved. They included two minibus taxis and an SUV.
Four other people suffered serious injuries.

Emergency teams responded to the crash early on Monday.
Police said 18 people died at the scene.
Three others later died in hospital. As a result, the death toll rose to 21.
Meanwhile, four people suffered serious injuries.
Authorities warned that the death toll could still change.
The crash also forced officials to close part of the N1 highway.
The affected section lies between Prince Albert and Leeu-Gamka. It is about 380 kilometres east of Cape Town.
Second deadly crash in two days
The accident was the second major deadly crash in South Africa within two days.
Eight people died in another crash near Ermelo in Mpumalanga province on Sunday.
Therefore, the two accidents killed at least 29 people in two days.
Road safety remains a major concern in South Africa.
According to the country’s Transport Ministry, nearly 11,500 people died in road accidents in 2025.
Authorities continue to investigate the latest crash.
