12 killed in armed attack in Nigeria’s Benue state

It was reported that 12 people lost their lives in an armed attack in Nigeria’s Benue state. According to national media reports, an armed attack was organized by unidentified people in Agatu region of Benue state.

In the attack, 12 people lost their lives and many people were injured. Armed attacks are organized from time to time in Agatu region of Benue state. Lastly, 13 people lost their lives in the attack organized in Agatu region on July 10.

Nigeria has recently been facing attacks by armed gangs in various parts of the country, as well as terrorist organizations Boko Haram and ISWAP, the West African branch of DAESH. Although the penalty for kidnapping is death penalty, kidnapping for ransom is common in the country.

Gunmen usually target villages, schools and travelers in the north of the country and demand ransom.
