20 migrants drown in shipwreck off Tunisian coast

At least 20 migrants have perished and five others have been rescued after their boat capsized off the coast of Sfax, Tunisia.

This marks the second deadly incident involving migrant boats in the region within a week.

The tragedy highlights the perilous journey undertaken by migrants seeking a better life in Europe.

Tunisia, once a transit point, has become a major departure point for migrants, particularly those from sub-Saharan Africa.

The Tunisian coast guard is actively searching for any additional survivors.

However, the rising number of migrant deaths underscores the urgent need for international cooperation to address the root causes of migration and provide safe and legal pathways for those seeking asylum.
