At least 8 killed in blast from Boko Haram mine

At least eight people were killed in northeastern Nigeria on Thursday when a mine planted on a road by the Boko Haram terrorist organization exploded in the Ngala region in Borno state, reports said.

Two members of the government-backed Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) were among those killed while many others sustained injuries.

Boko Haram has been responsible for mass acts of violence, claiming the lives of over 20,000 people since 2009.

Since 2015, the organization has also carried out attacks in Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
