Dozens of civilian casualties as SAF barrel bombs rain down on Kordofan

For the second consecutive day, General Burhan’s Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have continued air raids on residential neighborhoods in the city of Ghabish, North Kordofan State, according to a statement by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on social media platform X on Tuesday.

The bombings have resulted in dozens of casualties, including the tragic death of a young girl and multiple injuries, the RSF reported.

The group condemned the SAF’s deployment of explosive barrels, which has caused significant destruction to civilian homes.

“These repeated SAF airstrikes on urban and rural areas in Kordofan and Darfur highlight a disturbing pattern of systematic targeting with regional and ethnic implications,” the RSF stated.

“The persistent attacks reveal the moral and strategic bankruptcy of the current regime, often referred to as the ‘Burhan gang,’ which seems to be resorting to revenge tactics against unarmed civilians instead of engaging on the battlefield,” the RSF added.

The RSF vowed to relentlessly pursue justice, whether through legal avenues or on the battlefields from which they claim the SAF has fled.
