Eight Kenyan soldiers injured in IED attack in Lamu County

Eight Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers were wounded during a patrol when their vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Baure area of Lamu County. KDF confirmed the incident and reported that the injured soldiers were subsequently airlifted to Manda Base Hospital for medical treatment.

In a press statement, KDF strongly condemned the actions of those responsible for disrupting the movement and jeopardizing the socio-economic stability of the region.

They also called upon residents to collaborate with security agencies by providing information about these criminal elements hiding within their communities.

During the incident on Sunday evening, a Kenya Army technical vehicle was also destroyed.
