Ivory Coast evacuates its diplomats from Lebanon

The Ivory Coast government evacuated its ambassador, diplomatic staff, and nationals from Lebanon on Saturday.

This decision follows the escalating conflict in the region, according to the country’s foreign ministry.

Approximately 100 Ivory Coast nationals were living in Lebanon during this crisis.

Of those, around 60 expressed their desire to leave the conflict-stricken country.

The foreign ministry stated that the repatriation operation was initiated due to rising tensions.

These tensions are primarily between the Israeli army and Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon.

The evacuation began with about 20 individuals leaving on Friday.

The ministry indicated that additional evacuations will continue as seats become available on commercial flights.

This operation reflects the Ivory Coast’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens abroad.

As the situation in Lebanon remains unstable, further measures may be taken if necessary.

The government is urging all nationals in Lebanon to stay informed and follow safety protocols.

Authorities have established communication channels for those who wish to return home in the coming days.
