France were handed an unexpected 0-0 draw with Jamaica in their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup opening match on Sunday.
Herve Renard’s side began their World Cup campaign with a disappointing result in a Group F clash in Sydney as Jamaica, who were not the favorites, struggled to take a valuable point.
Jamaica were down to 10 women on the pitch as Khadija Shaw was shown a red card near the end of the match.
In their next match in the group, France will face Brazil on July 29. Jamaica will play against Panama on the same day.
