Nigerian military says airstrikes kill scores of terrorists

The Nigerian army reported that many terrorists were neutralized in an air operation in Zamfara and Niger states.

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Spokesperson Edward Gabkwet stated in a statement that air operations were carried out in Kachalla Damina in Zamfara state and Palele in Niger state, where ISWAP, the West African branch of the terrorist organization ISIS, is active.

Gabkwet noted that many terrorists, including a ringleader, were killed and many terrorists were wounded in the operations.

Gabkwet said that camps and logistics depots where terrorists took shelter were destroyed during the operations, adding that a large number of weapons and ammunition belonging to terrorists were seized.

The army statement did not specify which terrorist organization the neutralized people belonged to.

Nigeria has recently been facing attacks by armed gangs in different parts of the country, as well as terrorist organizations Boko Haram and ISWAP, the West African branch of ISIS.
