Vance to visit Kenya after G20 summit in South Africa

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance plans to visit Kenya next month following his trip to South Africa for the Nov. 22–23 Group of 20 leaders’ summit, a source familiar with the plans said on Monday.

The source said the Kenya visit is scheduled for Nov. 24–27 but gave no details on his agenda. Kenya, a major non-NATO ally of the United States since 2024, has sought to conclude a trade deal with Washington by year-end while balancing closer ties with China.

Vance’s office and Kenya’s foreign ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

President Donald Trump is sending Vance to represent the United States at the G20 summit in Johannesburg, after which South Africa will hand the rotating presidency to the United States.
