Walt Disney has appointed Tony Chambers as the new president of its operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
The announcement came on January 7, 2025, marking a significant shift in the company’s regional leadership.
Chambers, who has spent three decades at Disney, will take on the role in February.
He will oversee the company’s diverse portfolio across streaming, advertising sales, studio marketing, theatrical distribution, and sports in the region.
The decision is part of a broader restructuring of Disney’s entertainment businesses in EMEA.
Tony Chambers brings a wealth of experience to his new position. Most recently, he led global film distribution for Disney’s extensive list of brands, including Pixar, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm.
Prior to this, Chambers served as senior vice president of studio distribution for Europe, cementing his reputation as a key figure in Disney’s success.
In a joint statement, Alan Bergman, Dana Walden, and Jimmy Pitaro, co-chairmen of Disney Entertainment and chairman of ESPN, praised Chambers’ collaborative leadership style and his strong track record within the company.
“Tony is a seasoned executive with an excellent reputation, and we are confident in his ability to lead our efforts in EMEA,” they said.
