EgyptAir starts flights Cairo-Misrata, Libya with new direct flights

In a move aiming to strengthen ties and cater to growing demand, EgyptAir announced the launch of direct flights from Cairo International Airport to Misrata, Libya, starting January 25, 2024.

This exciting addition marks the airline’s third destination in Libya, following Benghazi and Tripoli.

“The new route to Misrata reflects the increasing traffic between Egypt and Libya, particularly the presence of a large Egyptian community residing and working there,” stated Yehia Zakariya, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EgyptAir Holding Company.

“It also aligns with our commitment to bolstering trade and economic exchange between the two countries.”

Passengers eager to explore Misrata can take advantage of one weekly flight every Thursday, departing from Cairo at 12:15 PM and arriving in Misrata at 3:15 PM Libyan time. To incentivize early bookings, EgyptAir is offering enticing discounts on the first four flights.

The inaugural flight boasts a 50% discount, while the subsequent three offer a 25% discount – a tempting offer for those seeking a convenient and affordable trip to Misrata.

With the addition of Misrata, EgyptAir now operates a total of 15 weekly flights to Libya, further solidifying its presence in the region.

The existing schedule includes seven weekly flights to Benghazi and seven to Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli. This expanded network caters to the diverse needs of travelers, whether for business, leisure, or visiting loved ones.

The launch of the Cairo-Misrata route underscores EgyptAir’s dedication to connecting people and cultures.
