Ruto focuses on housing, infrastructure investment in Kenya

President William Ruto’s recent tour of Nakuru and Nyandarua counties marked a significant step towards fulfilling his administration’s development promises. His focus on infrastructure, affordable housing, and attracting foreign investment promises to breathe new life into the region’s economy and improve lives for residents.

One of the most impactful initiatives is the upgrading of the Kiambiriria-Kuresoi-Chepsir road. This long-standing concern for residents and businesses will not only shorten travel times and boost connectivity, but also open up new economic opportunities. President Ruto’s commitment to addressing this critical infrastructure need demonstrates his dedication to delivering on his development agenda.

Beyond roads, the president’s focus extends to improving living standards. He inaugurated the Bondeni Affordable Housing Project in Nakuru, with a target of building 10,000 houses. This project will not only provide much-needed affordable housing for residents, but also create employment opportunities for the youth, contributing to economic stability and improved quality of life.

President Ruto’s vision for the region goes beyond infrastructure and housing. He aims to attract foreign direct investment to fuel industrial growth and boost exports. His visit saw the issuance of licenses to six companies investing a total of KSh30 billion, promising over 3,000 new jobs. The president also emphasized the importance of green industrialization and reducing energy costs in the Naivasha Special Economic Zone, highlighting his administration’s commitment to both economic development and environmental sustainability.

President Ruto’s visit to Nakuru and Nyandarua counties has been met with optimism and hope. His focus on key areas like infrastructure, housing, and job creation is seen as a catalyst for positive change in the region. By addressing long-standing concerns and investing in the future, President Ruto’s initiatives have the potential to unlock economic growth, improve lives, and pave the way for a brighter future for the residents of Nakuru and Nyandarua.
