Tanzania secures IMF staff-level agreement for new financing

The International Monetary Fund announced on Thursday that it has reached a staff-level agreement with Tanzanian authorities.

Subject to approval, this agreement will grant the East African nation access to approximately $441 million in financing.

The agreement marks the successful completion of the fifth review under the Extended Credit Facility and the second review under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility.

This infusion of funds aims to bolster Tanzania’s economic resilience and sustainability efforts.
