Istanbul workshop evaluates proposals for peace in Sudan

A workshop titled “Sudan Crisis and Solution Proposals” took place in Istanbul, organized by the Human Rights and Freedoms (IHH) Humanitarian Relief Foundation.

The event, held at IHH Headquarters, focused on addressing the political, social, and humanitarian impacts of the Sudanese crisis, with an emphasis on peacebuilding solutions.

Serhat Orakci, Coordination Officer and Halic University Assistant Professor, stated that the workshop aimed to assess recent developments and strengthen efforts for peace in Sudan.

He also noted Turkey’s growing interest in taking a more active role in these peace efforts.

Mohammad Othman Al-Baroudi stressed Sudan’s need for a genuine agreement and suggested that Turkey, along with other nations, should mediate for a new peace initiative in Sudan.

The workshop featured discussions on the rising violence in Sudan, the search for peace, and the importance of national integration.

Participants contributed their thoughts on possible solutions for peace.
