A second “kindness ship” carrying humanitarian aid from Turkey has arrived in Sudan, offering much-needed relief to the war-torn nation.
The ship, coordinated by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), was welcomed by Sudanese officials and Turkish diplomats at the eastern port of Port Sudan.
Sudanese Minister of Culture and Information Graham Abdulkadir praised the strong relationship between Sudan and Turkey, highlighting Turkey’s unwavering support during the civil war and recent flood disasters.
Turkish Ambassador to Khartoum Fatih Yildiz emphasized the humanitarian crisis facing Sudan, with millions displaced and in need of assistance.
The second “kindness ship” delivered 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid, including tents, blankets, hygiene items, and food.
This follows the arrival of the first “kindness ship” in July, demonstrating Turkey’s ongoing commitment to helping the Sudanese people.
Ambassador Yildiz assured that Turkey would continue to provide aid and support to Sudanese people as long as the need persists, even as the country works towards reconstruction.
The arrival of the second “kindness ship” is a testament to Turkey’s unwavering solidarity with Sudan during its time of crisis.
