Turkey’s Erdogan to visit Ethiopia and UAE next week

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will travel next week to the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia, officials announced on Saturday.

Communications Director Burhanettin Duran said the visits aim to deepen diplomatic engagement and strengthen regional partnerships.

Erdogan is scheduled to meet UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday in Abu Dhabi.

The talks are expected to focus on expanding cooperation between Turkey and the UAE across multiple sectors.

Regional developments and global challenges will also feature prominently in the leaders’ discussions, according to Duran.

On Tuesday, Erdogan will travel to Addis Ababa at the invitation of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

The visit to Ethiopia is expected to reinforce growing ties between Ankara and Addis Ababa.

Officials said several agreements and documents, whose negotiations have already been completed, are set to be signed.

The planned signings are anticipated to formalise cooperation in key areas and give new momentum to bilateral relations.

The back-to-back visits underscore Turkey’s continued diplomatic outreach, as Ankara seeks a stronger role in regional and international affairs.
