Turkish top diplomat meets global counterparts in Cairo

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with various international counterparts on Tuesday during the 162nd Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cairo.

Fidan also held discussions with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry on X.

The talks centered on developing a roadmap for future relations and potential high-level visits between Türkiye and the EU.

Additionally, Fidan engaged with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti, and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.

His meetings with Prince Faisal, Nafti, and Safadi focused on the ongoing Gaza crisis and potential measures to address the “genocide in Palestine.”

Turkey’s participation in the Arab League comes after a 13-year hiatus, reflecting Ankara’s renewed interest in Arab League affairs.

This engagement aligns with shifting geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East and North Africa.
