A major Greece-Egypt military exercise surprised tourists on the Greek island of Crete.
The annual Medusa exercise took place near the city of Chania.
Tourists watched helicopters, jets and military boats take part in the drills near the coast.
France, Italy and Cyprus also joined the exercise.

According to the Associated Press, some tourists watched the drills from around 50 metres away.
Greek military police kept visitors at a safe distance.
Meanwhile, troops carried out several training activities.
These included fast-boat landings and other simulated operations.
Jets and helicopters also flew over the area.
Tourists watch Medusa exercise
The exercise lasted around one hour.
As a result, it attracted attention from people staying at nearby hotels.
One tourist from northern England said she did not expect the exercise to be so large.
The drills took place as part of Medusa 15.
The wider exercise ran from September 10 to 18.
Several countries join military drills
Greece and Egypt led the exercise.
However, France, Italy and Cyprus also took part.
Egypt also deployed the Gamal Abdel Nasser helicopter carrier.
In addition, observers from several countries attended.
They included representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Serbia and Mozambique.
The Medusa exercise is part of ongoing military cooperation between countries in and around the Mediterranean.
