Several Iranian military advisers were killed in an Israeli attack south of the Syrian capital Damascus on Monday, according to Syria’s state-run news agency SANA.
SANA, citing a military source, said the Israeli attack targeted a number of sites south of Damascus.
Several Syrian civilians were also killed in the attack, SANA said, without giving an exact figure.
Tension ha s escalated between Iran and Israel amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip as well as Houthi attacks on Israel-bound ships in the Red Sea.
Relations between Tehran and Washington have also deteriorated further amid a string of attacks on US bases in Iraq and Syria in recent months by groups linked to Iran.
