Kenyan and Turkish lawmakers convened at Parliament Buildings on Monday to forge closer diplomatic ties and expand legislative cooperation between both nations.
Led by Turkish MP Ismail Gunes Usak, the visiting delegation paid a formal courtesy call on Adan Keynan, chairperson of the Kenya-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The diplomatic dialogue unfolds against a backdrop of Nairobi’s ongoing push to elevate institutional cooperation and project its strategic voice in global governance.
Joined by Turkish Ambassador Subutay Yüksel, Keynan underscored Kenya’s steadfast mandate to enrich institutional bridges and bolster mutual interests across international borders.
Beyond initial greetings, the foreign envoys outlined planned operational engagements designed to deepen legislative exchanges and align governance frameworks across both parliaments.
The visiting delegation is slated to confer with National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula alongside Nelson Koech, chairman of the defense and foreign relations committee.
Through direct legislative dialogue, both sovereign delegations seek to cultivate enduring geopolitical partnerships that complement broader executive alliances between Nairobi and Ankara.
