Sudan’s TASIS congratulates Ethiopia on GERD inauguration,

Sudan’s Founding Alliance (TASIS) has congratulated the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on inaugurating the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, calling the project a landmark in the country’s development and economic revival.

In a statement, TASIS described GERD as a national project that embodies popular aspirations for sustainable development and smarter use of natural resources, reflecting a firm will to build a modern, self-reliant state.

While saluting Ethiopians on what it termed a “historic step,” TASIS said it hopes the dam will become a bridge for cooperation among all Nile Basin countries and a source of rapprochement “without exploitation or injustice, as in the past.”

The alliance added that the achievement represents not only a development venture but also a people’s will—symbolizing self-reliance, regional cooperation and sustainability—and showcases Africa’s capacity to deliver strategic, globally significant projects.

TASIS said the dam’s completion will strengthen Ethiopia’s energy security and prosperity and could open promising horizons for deeper integration, cooperation and shared development across the region and the African continent.
