Following months of testing and negotiation, Apple is nearing an agreement that would see it pay roughly $1 billion annually for access to Google’s Gemini model. The partnership marks a rare collaboration between two tech giants traditionally seen as rivals.
The Gemini system, boasting 1.2 trillion parameters, represents a massive leap in AI capability—far surpassing Apple’s existing in-house models. Apple reportedly views the integration as a temporary solution while it continues developing its own next-generation systems.
