Ethiopia has announced that it will not fill the Hidase Dam until September.

In a recent address to parliament, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed made a significant announcement regarding the Hidase Dam, also known as the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. He declared that the Ethiopian government has decided to postpone the filling of the dam until September, prioritizing the water needs of Egypt and Sudan.

Prime Minister Ahmed emphasized the strong bond between Ethiopia and its neighboring countries, Sudan and Egypt, as they share the same river. He assured that Ethiopia holds no ill intentions towards these nations and seeks to maintain a positive relationship with them.
