Sudan’s military leader, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, insists on the African Union reinstating full membership for consideration of their conflict resolution proposal.
General Burhan conveyed this during talks with the AU High-Level Panel on Sudan, led by Mohamed Ibn Chambas. The panel aims to facilitate dialogue, reinstate constitutional order, and collaborate with stakeholders for lasting peace.
The ruling Sudanese Sovereign Council’s statement emphasized Burhan’s confidence in the AU’s solutions but underscored the need for full membership restoration for Sudan. Ibn Chambas reiterated the AU’s commitment to resolving the conflict and restoring stability.
