Egypt: Military force won’t stabilize Israel

Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, declared that military force and arrogance will not secure stability for Israel or the region.

Speaking in a joint press conference with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, Abdelatty emphasized the urgent need for peace. He highlighted discussions from the Egypt-China strategic dialogue, emphasizing the call for a cease-fire in Gaza.

He stressed the necessity of unrestricted humanitarian and medical aid to the Palestinian territory. “Security and stability are achievable only by addressing the legitimate rights of Palestinians and establishing an independent state,” he asserted.

The minister reiterated Egypt’s commitment to the two-state solution, advocating for Palestinian sovereignty with East Jerusalem as its capital. He underscored the 1967 borders as the foundation for this resolution.

Abdelatty also voiced criticism of Israel’s actions in Syria, condemning its recent attacks as blatant violations of international law. He urged the international community to support an inclusive political transition in Syria.

The Egyptian official emphasized the need for a government in Syria that reflects the nation’s ethnic and sectarian diversity, safeguarding minority rights while facilitating a stable transition.

Meanwhile, he called attention to the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. Since October 7, Israeli military operations have caused significant loss of life, with over 44,800 casualties, predominantly women and children.

Additionally, Abdelatty mentioned ongoing legal actions against Israeli leaders. Arrest warrants have been issued by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Gaza.

The International Court of Justice is also pursuing a genocide case against Israel for its military campaign in the region.

Egypt’s diplomatic stance reflects its commitment to peace, justice, and regional stability, urging the world to act decisively in support of these principles.
