Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty embarked on an official visit to Oman on Sunday to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
During his visit, Abdelatty held talks with Mohammed Al Yousef, Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, focusing on identifying promising investment opportunities and expanding trade relations.
Key areas of discussion included enhancing cooperation in sectors such as renewable energy, green hydrogen, liner transportation, logistics warehousing, food and pharmaceutical industries, and medical device manufacturing.
Abdelatty emphasized the strategic importance of strengthening cooperation between the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) in Egypt and the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) in Oman.
He also stressed the need to improve maritime connectivity between Omani ports and Egyptian ports by enhancing liner transportation and logistics warehousing.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry highlighted the significance of private sector involvement in advancing trade and economic relations between the two countries.
