Turkish foundation opens education center in tanzania

The TDV Chanika Education Center in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was inaugurated on Saturday by Turkey’s Diyanet Foundation.

The center aims to provide comprehensive education in Quranic studies, social sciences, and character development to over 60 orphans and underprivileged children.

The facility also features recreational amenities such as a basketball court and children’s games.

Fatih Kurt, a board member of the TDV, emphasized that the center aims to foster brotherhood and community welfare, rooted in Islamic principles of love and mutual support.

The initiative, serving children and young people aged 5-17, is expected to strengthen ties between the East African nations and Turkey and help the young beneficiaries grow into positive contributors to society.

Abdullaziz Abdi, director of the TDV Chanika Education Center, said that the center not only benefits children but also creates job opportunities for local residents, prioritizing the inclusion of underprivileged children.

The center was established in response to the challenges faced by orphans and vulnerable children in the community.
